오늘은 자녀 양육에 이어 자녀교육의 십계명에 관해서...
1. 지식보다는 지혜를 가르치라.
Let wisdom, not knowledge, be taught.
2. 공부나 일을 강요하지 말고 스스로 즐겁게 할 수 있도록 가르쳐라.
Let not your children be forced to study or work, but be taught to do so with pleasure.
3. 보는 교육보다는 생각하는 교육을 하라.
Let your children be educated for thinking rather than seeing.
4. 남이 하는 정도로 만족하지 않게 하라.
Let not your children be satisfied with the fulfillment of ordinary things than others do.
5. 자녀의 못된 고집을 꺽으십시오.
Let your children's misguided stubborness be corrected.
6. 자녀를 오른손으로 때렸다면 왼손으로 감싸주라.
Let your left hand embrace your children after you correct them with your right hand.
7. 자녀를 함부로 구박하지 말라.
Let not your children be treated too harshly.
8. 용기를 북돋워 주라.
Let your chilren be encouraged all the time.
9. 최선을 다한 뒤에는 반드시 보람이 온다는 것을 가르쳐라.
Let your children be taught that doing their best will be surely repaid, in the future.
10. 올바른 신앙을 갖도록 도와주라.
Let your children be helped to have faith in the right things.
"마땅히 행할 길을 아이에게 가르쳐라. 그리하면 늙어도 그것을 떠나지 아니하리라(잠언22:6)."
Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.
